Louis Feraud

Louis Féraud was born in 1921 in Arles, France. He met Brigitte Bardot in 1953, and after she wore one of his dresses in public, it started a run of Féraud. In a week 500 dresses were sold. After that, he dressed Brigitte for several of her films. In 1955 he moved to Paris where he opened a ready-to-wear salon. In 1956 he opened a boutique in Paris for clients including actresses Kim Novak and Ingrid Bergman as well as Danielle Mitterrand, wife of the late French president Francois Mitterrand. As much artist as couturier, he kept painting throughout most his life, crafting stylish nudes, landscapes and flowers which were exhibited and sold in Paris and New York. In 1990 his paintings of naked angels on exhibit in Japan sold for the same price as his haute couture masterpieces. Féraud created several perfumes for the American company Avon and made contributions to the work of other designers, including Daniel Hechter and Jean-Louis Scherrer.

Maske By

Tanos Haddad

Tanos Haddad was born in the small coastal town of Damour, Lebanon. He was one of the seven children of a Lebanese mother and an Armenian father. He believed in the importance of a good education early on in life. In 1970, he moved to Berlin, Germany to study mechanical engineering. In the 1990s, he started manufacturing his own line of eyewear. In the early stages, he manufactured frames made of lightweight acetate. His first collection, called "Mask glasses," was a big hit at the German Optician Fair. Later, when the industry caught up and started producing acetate in Asia, Tanos Haddad started experimenting with new materials: the use of massive silver and the ancient Japanese forging technique known as “Mokume Gane.” By welding thin metal sheets of silver and copper, he created unique patterns, which define his eccentric and futuristic Maske frames.

Roberto Capucci

Roberto Capucci has been referred to as a fashion maestro, an architect of clothing and a sculptor, but to put it simply, he has been a leading Italian fashion designer. Hailing from Rome, his sculpted apparel much like the Roman sculptures on display in that wonderful city, is a display of inventiveness. Capucci was born to a wealthy Roman family in 1929. He studied at Rome's famous Accademia di Belle Arti. He worked with the designer Emilio Schuberth but soon opened his own fashion house in Rome in 1950 when he was only twenty-one. That same year, he enjoyed a brilliant showing in Florence. The young designer was judged the best Italian fashion designer, selected for praise by Christian Dior in 1956. The same year, he received the Medal of Gold of Venice. His academic interest in fashion led him to withdraw from its commercial aspect in 1980. It was in the subsequent period of 1982 to 1996 that he created one collection a year for different cities like Milan, Tokyo, Florence, Rome, Berlin, Vienna, Graz and Venice, where they were displayed in museums as exhibits with the work of other great artists. Several of the most famous museums in the world have shown this maestro's body of work: Rome's Galleria di Arte Moderna, Florence's Galleria del Costume at Palazzo Pitti, New York's Guggenheim Museum, London's Victoria and Albert Museum and Vienna's Schonbrunn Castle. Many of these exhibits featured more than one hundred examples of his clothing creations as well as many illustrations. He was awarded the honor of a Full Professorship by the University of Peking and Shanghai where he held lessons on the art of design in 1995.
